That morning John mailed me, telling me I should join him to the PFO 4 (Pamporovo Freestyle Open 4). I had no contest plans for this season but it was a good opportunity to visit a new place with some good friends. The day after, Jason and I booked our flight to Sofia.
In Pamporovo we met John and the first thing we felt was the hospitality of Bulgarian people. The recent development of Pamporovo ski resort with its nice hotels and its high-tech lifts couldn’t be unnoticed.
We rode all together and felt true excitement. Great nature! Huge trees, long runs for any level of riding and good off piste runs could be found through the woods in the powder days. The snowpark and the halfpipe were nicely groomed and over nights reshaped. Everything was so well organized.
Halfpipe, slopestyle and big air contests rolled perfect for both skiers and snowboarders. Teams with their instructors were there for the event. There was a really good level of riding.
It was a good experience meeting new people and riding with them. Pamporovo is a place that will be definitely remembered for riding in good days!
